"Slow down, you crazy child...
...Vienna waits for you."
So, in the past couple weeks I have gotten myself into something really exciting. I got hired for my dream job! I was hired by the Congressional Youth Leadership Conference and will act as a faculty advisor. This means that for 8 weekends this spring, I will be traveling around the country helping 8th and 9th grade students realize their leadership potential. The company pays for my airfare, hotel, food, and everything else plus a real paycheck. Neat.
I was hired officially on Tuesday, made my travel arrangements on Wednesday, and flew into DC this morning. I left Brookings at 4:45am for my flight that was supposed to leave at 6:45, but didn't leave Sioux Falls until 8--stupid airplane computers. At any rate, I made it here, and get to fly first class on the way home. I can handle that.
So, here I am, in Vienna, VA for paid training for a week. I have met some of my co-workers and many of the people who are working the same track as me (there are 3 tracks and we all fly to different places). This will be fun...as long as I can keep all parts of my life in order as I am still working on my Masters and am still a GTA for composition. We'll see!
So yeah. In the words of Billy, Vienna waited for me...how considerate!
